Rec Kids Afterschool Program
We are currently on a waitlist for the 2025-2026 school year. Please click below to submit a request for registration and get placed on the waitlist for your child’s school/grade. You will only be charged the $50 registration fee if we are able to enroll your child at a later date.

PLEASE NOTE: Waitlists do not carry over from year to year. If you are looking to enroll for the 2026-2027 school year, you will need to wait until requests for registration open on Wednesday, April 29, 2026. (See below for more details).
Rec Kids is a STARS accredited, Licensed Childcare program providing quality afterschool care for the Essex Westford School District.
- WHO: K-5 students attending Hiawatha, Summit, Fleming, Essex Elementary, Founders, or Westford
- DATE: Monday–Friday, EWSD school year calendar
- TIME: From school dismissal until 6pm
Children will engage in a variety of fun, enriching, and engaging activities such as; sports, group games, field trips, homework support, and time to unwind at the end of the school day. A nutritious snack is provided each day as well.

Registration for 2026-2027 School Year
CURRENT FAMILIES (2025-2026 school year) can expect to hear from our team the first week of April 2026 to secure a spot for next year.
NEW FAMILY registration for the 2026-2027 school year begins Wednesday, April 29, 2026 at 9:00 am and is an online request for registration only. The link to the online ‘Request for Registration’ form will be available on this page and the home page of ejrp.org at 9:00 am on Wednesday, April 29. Please complete the online request form for the grade and school your child will attending and submit by selecting “Join Waitlist” - forms will be collected in the order they are received electronically. Submitting the form DOES NOT guarantee registration. Enrollment will be offered as capacity at each program allows.
If you need assistance with online registration, please call 802-878-1375 in advance of the registration day so we can assist you.
A representative from EJRP will follow-up via email to inform you of your registration status. If we are able to enroll your child, the $50 non-refundable registration fee will be processed right away to secure placement using the payment method provided when completing the request form. This fee is not applicable to families who receive subsidy through Childcare Resource. If we are unable to register your child due to a lack of availability, we will not take the $50 payment to be put on a waitlist.
**Children who attend fewer than 5-days per week must maintain a consistent schedule for the days of the week that they participate, and must attend at least two days per week.
Rec Kids 2025-2026 Fees
Fees for 2026-2027 will be published in April 2026.
Families are required to be enrolled have a credit card, or debit card, or ACH account on file to be charged licensed childcare fees.
Registration Fee: There is a $50 per child, non-refundable registration fee required at the time of registration for all families that do not qualify for the Childcare Financial Assistance Program through Childcare Resource.
Monthly Fees:
- 5 days- $330
- 4 days- $295
- 3 days- $246
- 2 days- $183
Sibling Discount: For families with more than one child, each additional child will receive a 10% discount.
Billing: Families will have the option to auto-pay on a weekly or monthly basis.
