About EJRP

Essex Junction Recreation & Parks (EJRP) is a comprehensive recreation, education, community events, and parks department serving the 4.6 square miles and 11,000 residents of the City of Essex Junction, Vermont. Our department has a $5.8M budget. We support 30 full-time staff and 250 part-time and seasonal employees. We operate a three-room preschool, provide licensed afterschool childcare, vacation camps, and summer day camps, offer a variety of youth through older adult recreation and education programs, and host a wide array of community events. Our signature park, Maple Street Park, features two outdoor pools, playgrounds, basketball courts, tennis courts, a skatepark, a bike park, baseball fields, multi-purpose fields, and multiple pavilions. We also oversee two other parks, community gardens, a dog park, and a senior center.
