In continuing fallout over plans to remove a baseball field at Maple Street Park, residents have now asked the village to retake control of the Essex Junction Recreation and Parks Department.
About a dozen residents with an interest in the issue attended the June 29 meeting of the Essex Junction Board of Trustees.
“We’re here tonight to ask the trustees not to renew their agreement with Essex Junction Recreation and Parks that gives oversight of the Essex Junction parks to the school district,” said Cindy Godin, the mother of a Little League player.
